Poet Spotlight: Judith
This poem is inspired by the article "Trump's travel ban leads to widespread protests, legal action" found at Newsela.com.
REJECTED, DENIED, AND TURNED AWAY
Rejected Their Countries are in
Denied complete Chaos
Turned Away
Muslim people All they want is to escape
in new to escape their
LAND rampage country
Rejected Yet all that the United
Denied states does is...
Turned Away
Muslims and Rejects
other cultures Denies
and races and Turns Away innocent
wanting a better People
life for them and
their FAMILIES
Detained and held
Rejected captive at the airport .
Denied
Turned Away
Being tugged at and
Muslims and other pulled with the officers
cultures coming to get COLD HANDS. Being Stared
away from the VIOLENCE and the at with his STONE COLD EYES.
PAIN
Rejected They are constantly
Denied being...
Turned Away
Rejected
Denied and
Turned Away
